| Are you a Christian? If so, do you tell it to the whole world? Or do you hide your candle under a bushel? Jesus says you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). What are you doing with your light? Who are you? Are you part of the Body of Christ? Are you one of the called-out ones; are you the church; are you ekklesia? Are you telling everyone you meet about the Body of Christ to which you are joined? Are you sharing with others the Good News of Jesus Christ? Or are you just content to be a pew-sitter instead of an integral part of the Body? Who are you? Are you not a sheep under the care of a certain pastor the Lord has given you to take care of you spiritually? Are you being submissive to the one the Lord has chosen to give an account for your soul?Or have you not accepted the shepherd the Lord has sent to you or sent you to? Who are you? Do you have the mind of Christ? Are you desiring to grow more into His image every day or are you living and acting as Christ only when it’s convenient for you? Are you totally transparent and truthful with your pastor and your brothers and sisters? Do you tell half-truths that are whole lies? Why do you hide things from others in the Body? How can others help bear your burdens if they don’t know what your burdens are? God sees and knows all you do and say . . . and He speaks to the obedient men He has chosen to be pastors and tells them what He knows about the situations in your life. Who are you? Don’t you know that friendship and kinship in God’s Kingdom cannot be based on doubt, untruths, and distrust? I pray the Lord awakens you to answer his call. And I ask again: Who are you? Do you even know? by Shari Gunter |
