Who is in control of your life? Who's driving? Do you allow God to be your co-pilot? Do you keep Him in the "extra" seat so He will be there just in case of an emergency, in case you are stumped by a question He is there for you to ask? Otherwise, it's clear sailing -- you are in the pilot's seat -- it's O.K. -- you can handle it . . . you are in control. Until . . . .

-the doctor says it's inoperable . . .

-the car goes out of control -- you awaken paralyzed from the neck down...

-the pink slip arrives with your last pay check . . .

-your mother dies unexpectedly from a heart attack . . .

-your spouse says, "I want a divorce . . . "

-the pregnancy you've prayed for ends in miscarriage . . .

and the list could go on and on . . .

Sometimes it's not even big life-altering things either. You are in control until . . .

-a jerk cuts in front of you on a busy highway and you call him worse than a jerk . . .

-your car is on empty after your spouse or teen-ager used it yesterday and insensitively didn't fill it for you and unpleasant thoughts about a loved one arise . . .

-the flat tire happens at the most inopportune time, you are late to work, the boss is mad, and your mind is cursing the whole world . . .

-your spouse is away on a business trip in Florida while you are home with the sick baby, broken washer, and creditors on the phone so bitterness wells up in your heart . . .

How has your life been with you in control? Is everything coming up roses? What do you really think? Are you doing the best job of driving? Do you relish having all the responsibility on your shoulders alone? Do you treasure all the stress and anxiety of being the human who's trying to control all things, even those in the supernatural realm?

Why not turn the controls over to the only true pilot of all life? Put God in the driver's seat, let go of the wheel, give Him the controls and you take the co-pilot seat . . . being a partner with the Lord as He wishes you to be.

God did not create man to carry all the troubles, worries, and burdens of the world. No, He created man to believe in Him, trust Him to keep His promises, and call on His name for help. He promises to be there to help . . . if you will only call.
